" My name is Molly Brown and I am a “former athlete.” I am 23 years old and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in May of 2018 . My graduation was only one year ago and even since then have felt a lack of purpose. I am coaching now at my old high school but I still question the direction my life is going. I often ask my self questions like should I have worked harder to go over seas? Why are my friends playing still and not me? Did I get as good as I would ever be at basketball? All of these questions hurt to think about. After reading Coach C’s book it is easier to redirect those questions into a greater purpose. My identity should never have been in me as a basketball player but in how much I’ve grown as a person and bettering who I am off the court rather than only on. I’m finding purpose in mentoring the next generation and helping them realize this game can take you far in life but at some point it will end. My purpose now is to make sure every athlete I come in contact with has an identity on and off the court. I’m very thankful for everything Coach C has taught me with her words, her book, and her actions. Thank you Coach C I love you more than words can express."

This book is a must read for parents of young athletes and athletes themselves. As a parent of an inspiring basketball player, I have always felt the need to expose my child to other activities so he knows his self worth beyond the game and to establish passion in other things. Go Beyond is a confirmation of the need to continue to push our kids to go beyond the sport they love. The testimonies from players personalizes the journey and spoke volumes to me and my son. Kezia Conyers encourages players to value themselves beyond the game by sharing her struggle and the way she overcame.
